  • The Conamara Clinic is a dedicated facility in the west of Galway, specialising in treating injuries and illnesses associated with physical activity and exercise. We adopt an evidence-based, exercise-focused approach to care, assisting individuals of all abilities—from everyday movers to elite athletes—in recovering and achieving their best performance. Our efforts are enhanced through collaboration with a wide-ranging national and international multidisciplinary team (MDT) and research leaders, ensuring that every patient benefits from the latest advancements in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and performance science.

  • Aaron Concannon

    Founder & Director | The Conamara Clinic

    Aaron Concannon combines top-tier expertise with a deep passion for sports medicine and community-oriented care. A Certified Athletic Therapist trained at DCU, Aaron obtained his MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine with First-Class Honours from Trinity College Dublin, demonstrating his dedication to clinical excellence and evidence-based practice.

    Aaron is currently completing the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine, broadening his specialist knowledge in managing football-related injuries and athlete performance. Additionally, as a Certified Doping Control Officer by the International Testing Agency, Aaron works internationally to safeguard athlete health and promote clean sport. Later this year, he will graduate from the prestigious International Olympic Committee Certificate in Drugs in Sport, awarded in Lausanne, Switzerland—the Olympic capital—reflecting his dedication to global standards and integrity.

    Aaron often travels internationally to participate in sports medicine conferences and congresses. These trips link The Conamara Clinic to a global network of top experts, enabling international referrals and access to the latest treatments.

    Motivated by his goal to elevate Connemara in international sports medicine, Aaron guarantees that each patient receives the newest knowledge and treatments, all provided locally.

  • All appointment services involve a Consultation, Examination, and Treatment / Rehabilitation component. The booklet below provides specific details.

    We have currently limited the number of bookable appointments online per week. If the availability below does not suit your schedule, please get in touch with Us, and we will try to accommodate your request.

  • Adult patients are 20 years and older.

    Adolescent patients are between 5 and 19 years old.

    Young Children are 5 years and younger.

  • Prices range from €20 - €85, depending on the chosen appointment service.

    Payment is expected on the day of service. Accepted payment methods are Cash, Card and Cheque.

    Private health insurance patients may be able to claim money back for their therapy appointments. You are advised to check your personal health insurance policy and coverage before your consultation at The Conamara Clinic.

  • Appointments range from less than 15 minutes to one hour.

    Special accommodations can be made for longer sessions, e.g., two-hour appointments.
